A video shows Mike Tyson punching a passenger repeatedly in the middle of a flight.

According to footage, former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson attacked a fellow passenger on a trip from San Francisco International Airport to Florida. The confrontation was initially captured on camera by TMZ. In the footage, Tyson can be seen bending over his seat, punching the unnamed man in the head repeatedly. Someone attempts to shove Tyson away from the man. For a few seconds, you will be beaten.

According to TMZ, Tyson consented to snap a picture with the passenger at the start of the trip on Wednesday before the assault. Despite Tyson's efforts to "relax," the "overly enthusiastic" guy continued to annoy the former boxer during the trip.

The passenger's forehead looks to be bleeding as a consequence of the strikes in the footage. Tyson's agents and JetBlue did not respond to NPR's requests for comment.

Tyson b ecame the youngest heavyweight champion in history when he won the title at the age of 20 in 1987. He rose to become one of the most admired fighters in the sport, but his celebrity came with controversy and unfavourable press.

Tyson was convicted of rape in 1992 and sentenced to three years in jail. Tyson has maintained his innocence on the accusation for a long time. He was also disqualified from a bout in 1997 after chewing off a part of his opponent Evander Holyfield's ear.

Tyson stated in a 2017 interview with NPR that he has changed and tries to avoid other people. ""My life is my family life," he stated at the time, "and I don't have any other life." That's all; I don't have a nightlife."
